About the role
The Amazon Leo Maintenance Group (LMG) delivers world-class uptime through preventive maintenance excellence, ensuring maximum reliability and availability for manufacturing production equipment. We qualify and maintain critical production and test equipment including electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, thermal cycling chambers, and space simulation systems, while serving as the essential bridge between production teams and Facilities Management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate RCFA investigations for significant downtime events; document findings, assign corrective actions, and verify effectiveness
- Develop and maintain reliability programs including failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), criticality assessments, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies
- Provide engineering support for capital projects, equipment installations, and modifications to existing production systems
- Analyze equipment performance data (MTBF, MTTR, OEE) to identify chronic losses and prioritize improvement opportunities
- Partner with manufacturing engineering on design reviews and commissioning activities to ensure maintainability and reliability of new or modified equipment
- Collaborate with vendors to recommend changes and document best practice operating procedures
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Mentor maintenance and reliability engineers on RCFA methodology, data analysis, and reliability best practices
- Own CMMS data integrity and asset hierarchy; drive work order quality, failure coding accuracy, and reporting standards to enable data-driven decisions
- Support CMMS implementation, configuration, and rollout activities
- Support implementation of predictive maintenance program
- Manage critical spare parts strategy and budgets for reliability-critical equipment as assets are defined, installed, and operated
Qualifications
- Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field, OR 4+ years of reliability engineering experience in a manufacturing or critical infrastructure environment
- 5+ years of combined experience in maintenance management, maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, or equipment engineering in an automated manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience leading RCFA/RCA investigations using structured methodologies (5-Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with a major CMMS platform (e.g., Hexagon EAM, SAP PM, Maximo, Fiix, eMaint) including asset hierarchy management, work order configuration, and reporting
- Experience leading or supporting CMMS implementation and rollout including system configuration, data migration, user training, and adoption
- Working knowledge of reliability principles including FMEA, RCM, and Weibull analysis
