About the role

The Sr. Environmental Operator plays a crucial role in maintaining the environmental health and safety of CordenPharma's facilities. Reporting to the Lead Environmental Operator, this position oversees the operation and maintenance of various environmental systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and troubleshoot process wastewater treatment systems to meet industrial pretreatment permit requirements.

  • Operate and maintain thermal oxidizers, managing their uptime and efficiency.

  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous plant waste, including waste collection, storage, and disposal.

  • Evaluate stormwater discharges and perform necessary cleanups.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on lab and treatment equipment, and coordinate repairs and improvements.

  • Train and mentor other operators in proper techniques and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of related experience in environmental operations.

  • Previous experience in wastewater, incineration, or hazardous waste management is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations in Colorado and at the federal level, including wastewater, air emissions, hazardous waste, groundwater, and stormwater.

  • Ability to accurately record data and maintain regulatory documentation.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with other departments and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 5+ years of related experience in environmental operations.

  • Previous experience in wastewater, incineration, or hazardous waste management.

  • DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation & RCRA Hazardous Waste Management (HAZWOPER) Certification.

  • Knowledge of and experience with environmental regulations in Colorado and at the Federal level.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to use computer systems and software for process management and monitoring.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and training skills.

  • Technical troubleshooting skills in wastewater treatment.

  • Ability to use a harness and operate a vacuum truck.

  • Knowledge of hazardous waste rules and disposal options.

  • Effective communication with regulatory agencies.

Pay

Actual pay will be based on skills and experience.

Schedule

Full-time position with rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
