Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Specialist
Position Responsibilities
- Affixes monitoring, preparation, implementation, updating, and maintenance of company policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Utilizes EHS concepts and tools to assess and mitigate risks within the work environment.
- Conducts incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, reporting, and implements corrective actions.
- Creates, documents, reports, and presents incident trending analysis.
- Participates in EHS Teams and programs, leading meetings and committees.
- Conducts workplace inspections for multiple facilities, documenting findings on a regular schedule.
- Promotes awareness activities and provides safety and environmental education to workers.
- Collaborates with other EHS team members, production managers, and other parties to implement procedures, plans, processes, best practices, and safety standards.
- Develops and conducts technical training as needed or directed.
- Engages in Gemba walks, Improvement Task Force activities, and leads safety committees as necessary.
- Investigates and determines incident root causes and assists in corrective action implementation, ensuring timely reporting and task closure.
- Analyzes data trends and performs risk assessments, providing training to employees as needed.
- Performs EHS inspections at sites, tracks corrective action and preventive action findings to closure.
- Tests the workplace for environmental hazards such as chemical exposure, dust, and excessive noise.
- Contributes to the development and execution of an EHS management system in support of company programs and policies.
- Leads EHS projects, programs, and initiatives as needed; serves as a subject expert for multiple EHS initiatives.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Sciences or related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years of relevant experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Federal, State, and other regulations (e.g., Cal OSHA, CUPA, CA Fire Code).
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and other office productivity tools.
- Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
- Current certification in DOT, Cal OSHA 30-hour, Hazard Waste Management (preferred).
- Knowledge and experience in ergonomics, ISO 14001 and 45001, DOT regulations, laser compliance, emergency management.
- Effective project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills to facilitate EHS programs across the organization.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and make sound judgments.
- Initiative and drive to achieve goals and meet company objectives.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Organized, able to track and follow-up on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
- Teamwork, collaboration, and putting team success above personal interests.
Physical Demands
- Office and manufacturing environment (constant).
- Ability to work in various physical conditions (occasional).
- Lift up to 50 pounds (occasional).
- Sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (frequent).

Salary Range
The salary range for this role is $80,500 - $123,000.
