About the role

The Senior Enterprise Architect at NiSource is responsible for providing senior level expertise on overall direction, guidance, definition, decisions, and priorities regarding the enterprise’s overall architecture to effectively support the organization's business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with business leaders, IT leaders, vendors, and industry experts to translate business requirements, understand options to capabilities, and create architecture blueprints and high-level solution designs for the most complex architectural components of a program.
  • Strategizes by helping business leaders and their teams think through the technology, business, and operational implications of their technology investment decisions.
  • Executes by reviewing, advising, and designing standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on the enterprise business process and goals.
  • Leads as the architecture thought leader and trusted go-to partner for Product and Engineering leadership across the organization, recommending innovative solutions to improve live and new system architectures.
  • Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and reference material that guides the design of technology solutions.
  • Facilitates architectural collaboration and governing processes including Architecture Review Boards, Solution Architecture reviews, exception management, and related processes.
  • Responsible for researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that are appropriate for the business and technologies strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of enterprise-wide architecture experience, including but not limited to the Application Customer Channels and Corporate Systems technologies listed: Adobe, GitHub, NICE CX, Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with at least one of the various aspects of Application Customer Channels and Corporate Systems capabilities listed: Agile Development, AI/ML, API Gateway & Management, Commerce, Composable Architecture, Customer Service, Development Tools, DevSecOps, Integration, Marketing, Runtime Environments, Sales, or Security.
  • Experience in directing and mentoring other architects in the team and across the organization.
  • Experience with on-premise solutions and cloud platforms on Azure, AWS.
  • Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and LeanIX.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience envisioning and translating overall architecture with business needs via transformation roadmaps, establishing target architecture and standards for the organization, building consensus, and providing guidance in the selling and execution within solution development processes of options and reuse points.
  • Proven ability to facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards and reference material that guides the design of technology solutions.
  • Ability to lead architectural collaboration and governing processes including Architecture Review Boards, Solution Architecture reviews, exception management, and related processes.
  • Experience in researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that are appropriate for the business and technologies strategies.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and maintenance of knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's architecture needs.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $133,400.00 - $200,100.00, plus a 10% annual bonus. The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.

Schedule

The role is currently offered on a hybrid schedule, combining remote and in-office work. Employees may be required to work outside their normal work hours and perform tasks outside of their normal responsibilities in support of emergency operations.
