At Weyerhaeuser, our IT team is at the forefront of the timber industry’s digital transformation. We leverage digital solutions, automation, data, and analytics across the entire supply chain—from seedlings to homebuilders. This position is an integral part of the centralized IT Enterprise Architecture Team, closely aligned with the Wood Products business. The role focuses on advancing our manufacturing & operations solutions while strengthening technology innovation.

Outstanding business insight, strategic thought process, cross-functional integration knowledge, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate strategies, standards, good practices, and guide execution.
  • Formulate, communicate, and uphold architectural strategies and standards in alignment with growth strategies.
  • Partner with senior leadership to determine and prioritize architectural initiatives.
  • Lead the development of technology strategies, patterns, and roadmaps that deliver new and improved business capabilities and outcomes.
  • Evaluate the organization’s current technology portfolio and recommend enhancements and upgrades.
  • Identify and align technology to business outcomes.
  • Facilitate problem-solving, solutioning, and provide a third-party perspective to business and IT.
  • Clearly communicate options, trade-offs, impacts of different scenarios, dependencies, and prioritization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key vendors and technical communities to stay current and gain outside perspective.
  • Build trust with Business, OT, and IT leaders to enable a collaborative atmosphere between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partner with business subject matter experts, IT solution architects, IT security, OT engineers, and others to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Support the convergence of IT-OT by working across process control, engineering, and IT.
  • Engage with different business units and departments to comprehend their needs and provide architectural solutions accordingly.
  • Coach and mentor others on Weyerhaeuser IT processes, architecture skills, and strategic approaches.
  • Guide the development and refresh of 5-year technology and investment roadmaps, aligning technology trends, business strategy, and other IT and business priorities.
  • Provide guidance and participate in alternative analysis and architecture development.
  • Partner with project teams to ensure solutions align to technology strategies and standards and assist with project architecture reviews.
  • Provide strategic counsel for project activities with delivery teams to guide integration efforts.
  • Highlight opportunities for automation, consolidation, and process optimization to minimize costs and improve efficiency, consistency, and quality.
  • Promote and advance innovation by staying informed of emerging technologies and assessing their potential benefits for the company.
  • Facilitate discussions with stakeholders about the potential of technology and applicability to business strategies and objectives.
  • Ensure new technologies adhere to relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Commit to growing functional and technical skills, in themselves and others, and discovering new ways to deliver business or technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related experience is required.
  • Over 5 years of Enterprise Architecture experience.
  • Proven leadership in team management, both formally and informally.
  • Over 10 years of experience in relevant IT technology such as ERP (SAP), Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations Management Solutions, CRM, Sales & Service, Logistics, and Analytics.
  • Good understanding of operational technology and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with integration patterns and platforms like Boomi and API management.
  • Experience with infrastructure and cloud architecture.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and concepts such as TOGAF or Zachman.
  • Ability to create compelling narratives to convey why change is needed and options to reach desired results.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to understand customer and partner business needs, lead requirement gathering and analysis, and design solutions that drive business outcomes.
  • Ability to educate stakeholders on complex technology subjects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence, collaborate, and manage group dynamics to drive consensus.
  • Ability to promote a collaborative environment, encouraging input from others and respecting others’ opinions.
  • Familiarity with OT frameworks and standards such as the Purdue model, ISA-95, ISA-112, ISA/IEC 62443.
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain frameworks and processes such as SCOR, S&OP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operations Technology experience (PLCs, HMIs, IoT, historians, MES, SCADA, etc.).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect).
  • AI/ML experience and certifications.
  • Practical experience with Snowflake, SAP S/4.
  • Practical experience in Wood Product manufacturing.
  • Experience translating business and technology requirements into easy-to-consume strategies, roadmaps, and alternatives.

Pay

This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, with a targeted salary range of $144,790 - $217,185 based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Eligible for an Annual Incentive Program offering a cash bonus targeting 25% of base pay, with potential plan funding ranging from zero to two times that target. This position also qualifies for $32,000 in restrictive stock units annually as part of our Long-Term Incentive Plan.

Schedule

Full-time, day shift (1st).
