About the Role

The Sr. Engineering Technician works independently to provide the highest level of technical support, mentorship, data analyses, and makes recommendations based on interpretation of data. Applies extensive Spotfire and discipline-specific knowledge and experience to engineering tasks and projects. Takes a multi-discipline approach to projects, ensuring data integrity and providing technical leadership to the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Expert-level skills in Spotfire, Access, SQL, Aries, Power Pivot, and Alteryx.
  • Assemble and analyze data and reporting from various internal systems including Aries, Excalibur, AVM, and third-party well data such as state regulatory and production data.
  • Build efficient data optimization routines for project support and automation of reporting using broad system knowledge.
  • Assist junior-level technicians in generating accurate reports.
  • Review and authorize supporting data via research from public sources such as Enverus/IHS and regulatory agencies.
  • Support evaluations for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including due diligence.
  • Support Investor Relations.
  • Build, design, generate, automate, and distribute monthly reports based on standard procedures for project performance tracking.
  • Assist engineers in preparing technical reports, analyses, evaluations, and presentations.
  • Perform complex calculations and preliminary analyses of data in support of engineering studies.
  • Develop more accurate and reliable data analyses and reporting methodologies.
  • Monitor new technologies and make recommendations.
  • Execute audit requirements with expert knowledge.
  • Upload data into the Master Aries database (or other databases) and develop systems/tools to QC data entered by regional or corporate personnel through exception reporting or variance analysis.
  • Provide advanced technical support for Spotfire or other visualization tools.
  • Train less experienced technicians.
  • Conduct business safely and with the highest ethical standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Expert-level skills with Microsoft Office, Spotfire, Aries, SQL, and Alteryx.
  • Advanced knowledge of the industry and operations.
  • Advanced use of Excel formulas including VLOOKUP, MATCH, TRANSPOSE, PivotTable, and PowerPivot.
  • Advanced data management skills, including the ability to push and pull data between systems for analysis and creatively address problems using Aries modeling.

Qualifications

  • Technical associate degree or related training required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field or industry.
