Sr. Engineering Manager-Android & Device Platforms
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager-Android & Device Platforms to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This leader will guide engineering execution across mobile and connected device platform initiatives, with a strong emphasis on Android development and fleet-scale device operations. The role combines hands-on technical contribution with people leadership, supporting multiple active product areas and helping shape architecture decisions across the organization. You will partner closely with Product and Design while developing engineers and driving modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted workflows. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Own engineering outcomes across key device product areas
- Manage and develop a mixed team of senior engineers and individual contributors
- Lead code reviews and contribute directly to software development
- Drive AI-assisted and agentic practices in the engineering process
- Coordinate priorities across multiple active product areas with different tech stacks
- Contribute to cross-organizational architecture discussions
- Support the professional growth of engineers and Engineering Leads
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in leadership roles
- Hands-on technical experience within the last 1-2 years, contributing to production code and technical decision-making
- Proficiency in native Android development using Kotlin and modern practices
- Experience with customized Android ROMs and entity management for Android devices
- Strong understanding of operational challenges in managing connected device fleets
Pay
$154,200 – $212,200 annually
