Overview
A leading multi-site manufacturing organization is seeking a strategic Senior Director of Engineering to lead enterprise-wide engineering initiatives and oversee the execution of large-scale capital projects across multiple facilities. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving engineering strategy, optimizing manufacturing operations, managing capital investments, and developing high-performing technical teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Job Duties
- Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of complex capital projects across multiple manufacturing facilities.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies that improve operational efficiency, reliability, quality, and overall plant performance.
- Manage engineering, maintenance, infrastructure, and capital project teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors, contractors, and engineering firms to ensure successful project execution and compliance with company standards.
- Identify and implement new technologies, automation solutions, and process improvements that enhance manufacturing performance.
- Oversee capital budgets, project timelines, and resource allocation to ensure financial and operational objectives are achieved.
- Champion workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and engineering best practices across all projects and facilities.
- Mentor and develop engineering leaders, supporting succession planning and organizational growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 12+ years of engineering leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 5 years leading and developing engineering or technical teams.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-site capital projects from planning through execution.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, capital planning, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% to support multiple manufacturing locations.
