About the Role
Our Water/Wastewater department is seeking a Civil Engineer to serve as a technical leader. This position requires a Professional Engineer (PE) license and relevant experience. The Senior Engineer will coordinate design activities, manage project submission schedules, and ensure quality assurance and control to meet client technical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Performs independent planning and design tasks, reviews work of others, prepares construction documents, and successfully delivers projects to completion.
- Handles technically complex projects with knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Maintains collaborative inter-departmental and cross-functional working relationships.
- Conducts initial QA/QC review of project submissions.
- Assists senior management in developing schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates.
- Works closely with project teams to define and deliver scope of work.
- Promotes and supports quality assurance and control processes to improve deliverables and reduce errors.
- Performs and checks design calculations, technical specifications, and prepares cost estimates.
- Develops and maintains design budgets for routine scopes of work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited school.
- Minimum of 10 years of job-related experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of the A/E/S industry and ability to resolve complex design and construction issues.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or Hydrologic and Hydraulic Software Packages for site layout, grading, utility, and stormwater management design.
