About the role

The Sr Software Engineer works with a team of software, network, and systems engineers to design, implement, and deploy software that meets customer requirements, scales easily, and supports highly available environments. This role focuses on crafting applications using virtualization, microservices, SDN, NFV, and AI/ML-driven automation to optimize workflows, enhance decision-making, and improve product capabilities. The Engineer tackles moderately difficult technical assignments with considerable judgment and initiative, understanding the implications of their work and making recommendations for solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive engineering projects by developing software solutions, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing reports and calculations.
  • Guide and mentor base and associate-level engineers as needed, while independently developing a full software stack.
  • Understand building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required for software and automation work.
  • Interact with system engineers to define system requirements and automation needs.
  • Implement automation frameworks for testing, deployment, and monitoring using AI-driven approaches.
  • Contribute to designs that implement new ideas using emerging frameworks to improve systems, processes, or services.
  • Review existing designs and processes to identify more efficient ways to complete workloads.
  • Understand the creation of company intellectual property (IPR).
  • Explore AI/ML technologies and automation platforms to design innovative solutions for business challenges.
  • Develop proof-of-concepts (POCs) employing ML algorithms, process automation, and intelligent assistants to streamline workflows.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to deliver solutions using system expertise.
  • Continuously learn and teach others about existing and new technologies.
  • Mentor teams on AI/ML protocols and automation strategies, promoting responsible AI practices, including model interpretability and governance.
  • Contribute to new and existing technology options that support business goals, understanding system protocols, operations, and data flows.
  • Engage in independent study of current AI/ML technology developments.
  • Define and drive AI/ML adoption strategies aligned with enterprise goals.
  • Evaluate automation and AI-driven tools to recommend optimal solutions for scalability and performance.
  • Write basic documentation on how technology works, including new code, systems, and system designs.
  • Create presentations and business requirements for managerial review.
  • Prepare explainability reports for AI models and automation frameworks to support compliance and audit requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Required).
  • 4-7 years of technical engineering experience (Required).
  • Experience with Java Spring Boot (Required).
  • Experience in microservices architecture building backend services using Spring Boot to develop RESTful APIs (Required).
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum and DevOps environment (Required).
  • Proven experience in software engineering and DevOps engineering (Required).
  • Experience with CI/CD applications and pipelines (Required).
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks and tools (Required).
  • Experience with Splunk, AppD, and Grafana (Preferred).
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Preferred).
  • Hands-on experience in automation frameworks or AI-driven orchestration (Preferred).

Pay

Base pay range: $113,600 - $205,000. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on factors such as work location, qualifications, and experience. Most Corporate employees are eligible for an annual bonus target of 15%, based on company and/or individual performance.
