Sr Engineer - Product Development
About the role
In this position, you will design and release Hot End End Exhaust Sensor assemblies for major programs such as F150 and Superduty in the ICE PT Controls area. Your responsibilities include developing sensor end items from PS to OKTB, working through various phases including UNVx, FDJ, and System Fill, and using product development tools like GPDS.
Responsibilities
- Develop Sensor End Items from PS to OKTB on F150 and Superduty
- Manage automotive components from initial concept/design through industrialization and mass production
- Collaborate with cross-functional purchasing groups to execute supplier contracts and strategic sourcing
- Oversee physical prototype testing across all levels (component, system, and full vehicle) in harsh/high-heat environments
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- 5+ years of experience in Product Development (PD) engineering
- Proven experience in program delivery, managing automotive components from initial concept/design through industrialization and mass production
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Extensive experience overseeing physical prototype testing across all levels (component, system, and full vehicle) in harsh/high-heat environments
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional purchasing groups to execute supplier contracts and strategic sourcing
SkillsUse Product Development Tools to advance the design, including supplier selection/contract with Team of Four, design development and prototype testing (component/system/vehicle)

Pay
This position is a salary grade 7 or 8 and ranges from $86,600 - $166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
Schedule
This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
