Sr. Perception Engineer
About the role
Ranpak Corporation is seeking a Senior Perception Engineer to join our team in Shelton, CT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field, with a minimum of 4 years of experience as an engineer.
Responsibilities
- Develop advanced software modules for robotic perception systems
- Hands-on experience developing robotics and machine perception systems in C++
- Knowledge in data structures and algorithms
- 3 years of experience with OpenCV and the Point Cloud Library (PCL)
- Proficient in Modern C++ with deep understanding of RAII, STL, templates, and contemporary language features
- Proficient in Unix/Linux environments
- Skilled in developing robust, production-ready software systems
- Experience in maintaining and extending large-scale software libraries
- Proficient with ROS and other robotics middleware frameworks
- Hands-on experience with parallel computing technologies, including TBB and CUDA
- Strong command of linear algebra libraries such as Eigen
- Background in applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems
- Proficient with modern version control workflows using Git
- Familiar with agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics Engineering or a closely related field
- 4+ years of experience as an Engineer
