Our service offerings cover nuclear, conventional, and renewable power, as well as compliance, encompassing plant conceptual design through operations and maintenance.

About the role

As a key member of our Power Plant Engineering Team, you will serve as the subject matter expert and company resource for nuclear plant consulting projects. You'll prepare for client meetings, lead discussions, and demonstrate technical expertise in power plant engineering to execute projects independently. You’ll also mentor younger team members, drive technical excellence across the team, and assist management with business opportunities, conferences, and training sessions. This position offers remote and hybrid schedule options with minimal travel required (10–15% for site visits, client meetings, and conferences).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for nuclear plant consulting projects.
  • Prepare for and lead client meetings, demonstrating technical expertise in power plant engineering.
  • Execute projects independently and mentor younger team members.
  • Drive technical excellence across the Power Plant Engineering Team.
  • Assist management with business opportunities, conferences, and training sessions.
  • Interface with industry organizations.
  • Travel up to 10–15% for site visits, client meetings, and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in power generation engineering at OEMs and/or utilities.
  • 5+ years in comparable nuclear industry positions: Turbine Engineer, System Engineer, Design Engineer, Equipment/Plant Subject Matter Expert, or Senior Reactor Operator.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering calculations, assessments, and analyses.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support projects and business development initiatives (10–15%).

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering licensure and advanced degree (preferred).
  • Vibration analysis capabilities/certification (preferred).
  • Familiarity with nuclear plant administrative processes (preferred).
  • Familiarity with nuclear modification and design processes (preferred).
  • TapRooT root cause analysis qualification (preferred).
  • SRO certification (preferred).
  • Expertise in the following areas (preferred):
    • EHC Systems
    • LO Systems
    • Plant Performance Assessments
    • MSRs
    • Feedwater Heating
    • Pumps
    • Generator Auxiliaries
    • Major Turbine Valves
    • Main Condensers
    • Heat Exchangers
