About the role

Those offerings include devices such as switches, sensors, data communication modules, touch input panels, actuators, and power inductors; electronic shifters, remote keyless entry systems, and other automotive units; consumer electronics like car navigation and audio-visual systems; and systems and services such as digital keys based on smartphone apps and blockchain technology, and remote monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software (e.g., NX, CATIA, SolidWorks).
  • Analyze 3D models and engineering drawings from other sources for engineering feasibility.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical and electrical systems seamlessly.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize performance.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, DFMEA’s, open issues lists, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting of prototypes and final products to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Develop, review, and present Technical Design Review materials to customers during the program quoting phase.
  • Provide support toward the certification and ensure compliance with customer-required quality management systems (TISAX, TS16949, IATF, etc.).
  • Prepare sample parts for appearance reviews with customers.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in electro-mechanical engineering and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into designs.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Positions that fall under the functions of Product Development, Legal, HR, IT, and Executive Management are required to exercise a higher level of confidentiality and discretion in handling information the positions have access to.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (master’s degree preferred), or approved equivalent.
  • 8+ years of proven experience in mechanical design, particularly in electro-mechanical automotive systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., NX, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB).
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles and their application in mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
