About the role

The Senior Engineer for the Policy Management team will build and evolve cloud-based systems to flawlessly manage and distribute configuration information to a fleet of millions of endpoints. They will collaborate with other cloud, front-end, and endpoint developers, brainstorm, design, and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams, and focus on continual learning.

  • Focus on continual learning, raising the bar for both yourself and your teammates.
  • Leverage our understanding of engineering best practices, including topics like appropriate testing paradigms, effective peer code reviews, logging, and resilient architecture patterns, to ensure that our code is clean.
  • Be an energetic 'self-starter' with the ability to take ownership and be accountable for deliverables, both individually and when leading a team.
  • Deliver and accept feedback with grace and courtesy.
  • Collaborate on determining root causes of production outages and adding quality improvements to prevent outages in the future.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for CJIS clearance (requires U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status).
  • A computer science background or equivalent experience (programming styles, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience building and scaling back-end systems in production.
  • Team player skills – we embrace collaboration.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
  • Experience with Golang, Python, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Redis, Kafka, Elastic Search, and/or similar technologies.
  • Experience developing and deploying into Linux containers.
  • Ability to travel (primarily to the United States) 1-3x per year.

Qualifications

  • Both a sense of humor and a sense of humility.
  • Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Skills

  • Prior experience managing configuration automation for large endpoint fleets (for example, Microsoft Configuration Manager, JAMF Pro, ChromeoOS device management).
  • Prior experience with building, operating, and scaling low-latency internet services.
  • Solid grounding in the technology of at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Exposure to/experience with cybersecurity and intelligence.

Pay

$140,000 - $215,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.

Schedule

Hybrid role based out of either our office in Sunnyvale, CA or Redmond, WA with an expectation of being in the office twice a week.
