About the role
We're seeking a senior embedded systems engineer with a strong hardware-first background in power measurement, characterization, and debug on complex SoC-based platforms. This role is highly hands-on, blending EE lab work, embedded firmware, and system-level software analysis to understand and optimize real-world power behavior.
Responsibilities
- Lead system-level power measurement and debug using lab instruments (scopes, power analyzers, electronic loads)
- Analyze schematics, power rails, sequencing, and PDNs
- Build and execute structured power test plans across modes, workloads, and states
- Correlate electrical measurements with firmware, Linux/Android behavior, and thermal response
- Investigate power anomalies and performance issues across HW, FW, and system software
- Collaborate closely with electrical, hardware, firmware, and platform teams
Requirements
- 7+ years in embedded systems with significant EE lab and debug experience
- Strong ability to read schematics and perform rail-level power analysis
- Solid embedded firmware experience (MCU, SoC, bootloaders, low-level drivers)
- Working knowledge of Linux and/or Android system software
- Experience with complex SoCs (e.g., Qualcomm or similar) a strong plus
- Comfortable driving investigations independently in ambiguous environments
