About the Role

Join Honeywell's Anthem Integrated Flight Deck team and contribute to the industry's first Cloud-Connected "Always-On" Integrated Cockpit system. This revolutionary avionics platform features cloud-native communications, navigation, and surveillance systems, powered by a flexible software platform customizable for virtually every type of aircraft—from passenger planes and business aircraft to defense, general aviation, and Advanced Air-Mobility (AAM) vehicles. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Core Software architectures and applications for aerospace and avionics systems.
  • Integrate Flight Management System (FMS) software into product development programs, ensuring seamless functionality and compliance with system requirements.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, architects, and other cross-functional stakeholders to define software requirements, specifications, and technical solutions.
  • Develop and implement software solutions that satisfy performance, reliability, security, safety, and scalability objectives.
  • Participate in and lead software requirements reviews, design reviews, and code reviews, providing technical guidance and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Perform software integration, validation, and troubleshooting on hardware test benches.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues through systematic analysis and debugging techniques.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and software engineering best practices to drive innovation and process improvements.
  • Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.

Requirements

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 6-8+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong C++ and/or Object-oriented programming skills.
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Strong software architecture and design development skills.

We Value:

  • Advanced educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience in Flight Management Systems (FMS) development, including avionics software design, integration, and verification.
  • Strong expertise in multi-core and multi-threaded software development, including concurrency, synchronization, performance optimization, and real-time systems.
  • Experience managing and/or mentoring teams developing embedded software systems for safety-critical environments.
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards and regulations, such as DO-178C.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and software engineering skills with the ability to design robust and scalable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional and collaborative team environments.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and professional development, with a passion for staying current on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
