We are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry. Our automotive products include seating and lumbar support, motors, actuators, and massage systems.

About the role

This is a 12-month contract position. As a Senior Automotive Embedded Software Engineer, you will support our Automotive business by designing, prototyping, and validating product solutions to meet customer and internal core team timing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Complete various engineering efforts to design, prototype, and validate product design solutions in support of customer and internal core team timing requirements.
  • Maintain regular contact with team and systems integration engineering on technical issues.
  • Actively participate in program core teams with proactive presentation of defined engineering deliverables in the APD portion of the C2P process.
  • Develop engineered product solutions to meet customer needs through creative use of core part designs and technologies, ensuring compliance with MISRA and other regulatory standards.
  • Establish and maintain adequate records of technical information, process methods/standards, design and program details, and records to support/procure reliable patent actions.
  • Ensure products are reviewed for best practices from a Design for Excellence (DFX) perspective, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Cost (DFC), Design for Testability (DFT), Design for Reliability (DFR), and Design for Ergonomics (DFE) to meet product targets.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an automotive embedded software product design role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Experience working with project launch cycles for automotive.
  • Strong knowledge of C programming, model-based design, architectural design, engineering calculations, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of automotive APQP terms.
  • Excellent problem-solving and presentation skills.
  • Experience coding with LIN, CAN, and UDS diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR software architecture and experience with related tools.
  • Knowledge of ASPICE and ISO-26262 is an asset.
  • Familiarity with coding rules in C language for automotive applications.
  • Familiarity with software build, release process and integration, validation process, and tools.
