Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain wiring harness drawings, harness routing layouts, electrical schematics, and installation drawings.
  • Document connector and splice documentation.
  • Design harness routing considering bend radius requirements, clamping requirements, heat protection, abrasion protection, serviceability, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Integrate electrical components such as sensors, switches, controllers (ECMs), displays, relays, and power distribution modules.
  • Develop and maintain electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Support packaging and clearance studies using 3D CAD tools.
  • Participate in prototype builds and production implementation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and harness-related issues during machine builds and field testing.
  • Collaborate with controls, software, hydraulics, structures, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM and industry electrical standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design and wiring harness development.
  • Strong knowledge of: wiring harness design, harness routing, electrical schematics, connector selection, electrical integration, electrical CAD tools, harness development software, vehicle electrical systems, power distribution, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Understanding of CAN/J1939 communication protocols and EMC/EMI requirements.
  • Experience with heavy equipment, automotive, agricultural, commercial vehicle, or off-highway products.
  • Knowledge of electrical validation and testing.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in mobile equipment electrical systems, wiring harness design, electrical integration, and machine-level electrical architecture.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electrical design and harness development.
  • Experience with electrical CAD tools and harness development software.
  • Understanding of vehicle electrical systems and power distribution.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
