The Sr. Electrical Engineer (Substation/Physical) role is based in the United States and offers an opportunity to lead complex substation projects that support critical energy infrastructure.

About the role

This role combines engineering expertise, project coordination, quality assurance, and client collaboration. You will play a key role in developing innovative solutions while maintaining compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Requirements

  • Experienced electrical engineering professional with a strong background in physical substation design and high-voltage power systems.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership capabilities, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex engineering assignments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 8+ years of experience in substation physical engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of physical substation design and engineering practices.
  • Experience designing high-voltage substations ranging from 12kV through 500kV.
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards, including IEEE, IEC, NESC, and client standards.
  • Strong understanding of power delivery systems, electrical design principles, and engineering calculations.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, studies, construction documents, and project deliverables.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Experience with relay settings and protection and controls is a plus.
