About the role

Join our Electrical Engineering team at Milwaukee Tool and help shape the future of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) products. As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will lead the design, testing, and implementation of embedded systems in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. You’ll drive innovation in firmware, power electronics, and embedded systems while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring projects meet regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics hardware and firmware for mid to high-complexity projects.
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and test cases for new product embedded systems and subsystems.
  • Communicate progress, barriers, and risks effectively across the organization.
  • Create and manage Work Breakdown Structures to drive projects to critical milestones with urgency and accountability.
  • Mentor, guide, and coach junior engineers while serving as a role model for Milwaukee Tool’s culture.
  • Utilize laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems.
  • Ensure project adherence to schedules and Milwaukee Tool’s processes.
  • Design and qualify new products to regulatory standards (UL, CEC, CE, ANSI).
  • Apply knowledge of power electronics, hall sensors, and IMUs in product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded systems design.
  • Expertise in C programming, microcontroller peripherals, and firmware architecture.
  • Practical knowledge of analog/digital system tradeoffs, signal integrity, and noise analysis.
  • Experience with sensor selection, integration, and validation (e.g., torque, force, position sensing).
  • Familiarity with schematic capture, PCB layout software, SPICE, and industry best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (domestic and international).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Python or C++.
  • Mentoring and leadership experience.
  • Experience with statistical analysis techniques (MSA, uncertainty quantification, R&R).
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) for system optimization.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication standards and precision measurement challenges.
  • Experience with high-resolution data acquisition and signal processing for electromechanical systems.
