About the role

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer I (PE Level) to join our growing MEP team in one of our offices across Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, or Indiana. This position offers the opportunity to contribute technical expertise on high-impact projects while mentoring junior engineers and supporting multidisciplinary project teams from concept through construction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems from concept through final construction documentation.
  • Perform electrical engineering analyses and calculations to support system design and performance.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex design challenges across multiple project types.
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Review and apply applicable local, state, and federal codes and standards related to electrical system design.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers within the MEP department.
  • Participate in design reviews and support construction-phase services as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical system design.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing in the state where the position is based (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience designing electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding and bonding, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage systems such as telecommunications, paging, and nurse call.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with electrical analysis software such as SKM and lighting photometric software such as Visual.
  • Experience with healthcare or federal projects is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, industry standards, and electrical design practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects through multiple phases of design and construction.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed for project completion.
