Sr. Electrical Engineer, NPI
About the Role
Bloom Energy is seeking a dynamic Sr. Electrical Engineer, NPI to join its world-class team in Fremont, CA. This position involves 25% travel and focuses on new product introduction (NPI) within the solid oxide fuel cell industry.
Responsibilities
- Manage new NPI project transfers to Bloom Manufacturing and contract manufacturers (CMs).
- Communicate clearly and professionally within the team and with external vendors.
- Develop interconnect wiring diagrams, schematics, wire harness drawings, and test procedures.
- Lead the electrical team and conduct failure analysis of electrical components, implementing preventative or corrective actions.
- Design panel layouts and prototypes.
- Develop work instructions and collaborate with suppliers to generate test requirements, fixtures, and software.
- Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and deviations.
- Ensure design for manufacturability within the development team.
- Develop test equipment from concept to commissioning.
- Train manufacturing personnel on test processes, equipment, and software.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or New Product Introduction, preferably in industries such as oil and gas, energy and power, pharmaceutical production, chemical processing, or large capital equipment.
- Experience developing schematics and wire harness CAD using AutoCAD.
- Ability to independently manage projects and drive rapid scale-up of new products.
- Understanding of analog and digital circuits, power devices, magnetics, control systems, switchgear, test equipment, and instrumentation.
- Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting high-power, high-voltage equipment in a laboratory environment.
- Experience developing test equipment, including electro-mechanical assemblies (e.g., mass & air flow sensors, DC-DC converters).
- Strong bench/lab skills working with electrical components (PCBs, high-voltage components, wiring interconnects, and digital/analog I/O).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Knowledge of fuel cell systems or mechanical assemblies is a plus.

Pay
Salary range: $114,800.00 - $165,200.00.
