About the role

This Electrical Engineer position in our Advanced Manufacturing group is location-flexible anywhere in the United States. You’ll contribute to projects that enable the engineering, design, and construction of data centers and other mission-critical facilities. You’ll provide design work, collaborate technically with the team, perform quality reviews, and assist with other aspects of the design process. You may also interact directly with clients, owners, and contractors to support on-site construction.

You’ll work closely with a multi-discipline team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents. Your role will focus on engineering and design for data center facility power distribution systems, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communications systems in complex industrial facilities. You may also work on retrofitting existing building systems to meet evolving client requirements. Additional responsibilities may include managing quality, scope, budget, and schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer and design medium and low-voltage distribution systems, building electrical systems, and campus-style power distribution, including conveyance
  • Design data center facility power distribution systems, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communications systems
  • Contribute to technical collaboration and perform quality reviews of design packages
  • Assist with other portions of the design process, including construction document production
  • Interact directly with clients, owners, and contractors to support on-site construction
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative multi-discipline team environment
  • Manage quality, scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects
  • Design retrofits of existing building systems to accommodate evolving client requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 6 years of experience in engineering design of medium and low-voltage distribution systems, building electrical systems, and campus-style power distribution
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with industrial facility design
  • Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software
  • Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of data center facility design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Forward-thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
  • Ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Passion for buildings and construction
  • Experience in the design of large projects on greenfield sites

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $132,900.00 to $182,700.00. Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Jacobs offers a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations to deliver their best work.
