About the role

This Electrical Engineer position in our Advanced Manufacturing group is location-flexible anywhere in the United States. Ideally, you’ll be near a Jacobs U.S. office, but we hire the best candidates regardless of location. You’ll contribute to projects that enable the engineering, design, and construction of data center and other mission-critical facilities, working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a multi-discipline team.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer and design data center facility power distribution systems, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communications systems in complex industrial facilities.
  • Perform design work, contribute to technical collaboration, and conduct quality reviews of design packages.
  • Assist with other portions of the design process, including retrofit of existing building systems to meet evolving client requirements.
  • Interact directly with clients, owners, and contractors to support construction on-site.
  • Manage quality, scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 6 years of experience in engineering design of medium and low-voltage distribution systems, building electrical systems, and campus-style power distribution including conveyance.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with industrial facility design.
  • Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software.
  • Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of data center facility design experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Forward-thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Ability to learn quickly and broaden your knowledge base.
  • Collaborative and effective in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Passion for buildings and construction.
  • Experience designing large projects on greenfield sites.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $132,900.00 to $182,700.00. Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Jacobs offers a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
