About the role

Design, develop, and integrate aircraft arresting electrical and control systems across hardware and software domains. Solve technical challenges in power/control circuit design, PLC-based control systems, and human-machine interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Define electrical and control system architectures: hardware, software, communication, and interfaces based on function and operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain system-level specifications, interface control documents, system requirements specifications, and hardware requirements specifications.
  • Design electrical power and control circuits for new production systems: power distribution, motor control, protection circuits, signal conditioning, and control panel design.
  • Build proof-of-concept prototypes and lead hardware/software integration, subsystem testing, and full-system validation.
  • Transition designs to manufacturing through complete design packages that enable in-house manufacturing or external sourcing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop, trace, and verify system, hardware, and software requirements.
  • Influence the design direction of future products by contributing to architectural standards, reusable frameworks, and system engineering best practices.
  • Required travel time is less than 10%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar).
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience. Preference given for defense or aerospace/defense industry.
  • Familiarity with industry standards for electrical engineering processes.
  • Proven success in taking control/electrical systems from concept through design, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Experience with SCADA and/or NI-based control and data acquisition systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot hardware/software.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and interface with engineering, program management, and customers.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Pay

$115,000 to $130,000. The salary range is a general guideline for a position based in PA. Criteria such as qualifications, experience, scope of the position, and market considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.
