Key job responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, develop, and improve production processes (assembly, integration, test processes) through collaboration/leadership of a team of manufacturing engineers.
- Serve as a technical lead on failure analysis. Drive yield improvement through process change.
- Develops standard rework procedures, test coverage improvements, and board-level DFM feedback.
- Investigate and introduce new manufacturing test technology and methodology to enhance production efficiency.
About the team
The Optical Inter-Satellite Link Production team is a multi-disciplinary organization responsible for all aspects of production of the key modules enabling satellite-to-satellite communication. The Manufacturing Engineering Team is the technical arm of this organization, with 40+ engineers from all disciplines collaborating on all aspects of technical development & execution in production. As a Lead Engineer, you will be the technical leader of a team of 4-6 manufacturing engineers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Experience with analog, digital, and high-speed circuit design
- Experience in CAD skills, including being capable of developing an integrated automation layout unassisted
- 7+ years of experience with electro-optical hardware development, including analog/mixed-signal design
- Experience with PCB design and debugging, including amplifiers, FPGAs, photodiodes, ADCs, sensors
Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Electrical with 5+ years’ industry experience
- Demonstrated understanding of quality metrics, process characterization and mapping, Product Quality / Reliability / Improvement techniques, LEAN Manufacturing, DFM/DFT, and Continuous Process Improvement
- Understand Design for Testability, Design for Manufacturability
- 4+ years of embedded firmware development experience
