Founded in 1953, Aerosonic designs and manufactures aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment—including air data systems, standby displays, digital and mechanical standby instruments, sensors and probes. Our customers include major manufacturers of civil, military and business fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms as well as all branches of the U.S. military. The position is located in Clearwater, FL; hybrid and remote work are not offered. All employees must be U.S. persons.

Responsibilities

• Translate design requirements into analog and digital board designs, including component selection, simulation, schematic capture, layout, documentation and development of test procedures for avionics products.
• Perform system integration to ensure proper function of integrated boards in the intended platform.
• Review PCB layouts with Altium, PADS or Allegro; PCB layout experience is a plus.
• Interface with in-house manufacturing for production test support and troubleshooting.
• Emphasize a structured development process to meet DO-178C / DO-254 guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related engineering field.
• Minimum of seven years in board design, preferably within an aerospace organization.
• Experience designing and implementing solutions for aerospace applications.
• Familiarity with various data and power bus architectures and implementation of microprocessors.
• Solid analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of aerospace and FAA requirements.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for evaluating information and presenting it to customers.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
