Sr. Director, Talent Development

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Director, Talent Development to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. This leader will shape a multi-year talent development strategy that strengthens leadership capability and supports broader business goals across the organization. The role will partner closely with senior business leaders to assess needs, prioritize investments, and build programs that develop current and future leaders. This position will also guide governance, executive development, and succession planning efforts while overseeing team leadership, budget management, and external partnerships. Location: San Jose, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $280,456 annually Responsibilities Develop and implement a multi-year learning and leadership strategy aligned with business goals Conduct needs assessments and skills-gap analyses with business leaders Establish governance for program prioritization and budget management Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on capability building Design and lead a tiered leadership development curriculum for various management levels Oversee executive development offerings, including coaching and assessments Build career development resources and support succession planning Qualifications 10+ years in learning and development, with 5+ years in a leadership role Proven track record in designing and delivering leadership programs across organizational levels Strong grasp of adult learning principles and instructional design Familiarity with learning technology platforms and analytics Ability to influence senior executives effectively Experience in team management, budget oversight, and vendor relations Excellent communication and facilitation skills Benefits Comprehensive healthcare and retirement plans Paid time off and flexible work arrangements Opportunities for professional development and training Access to a network of external partners and resources Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
