Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and support production of scientific content across manuscripts and journal submissions, congress abstracts and posters, congress slide presentations, booth materials and additional congress content.
  • Partner with senior Medical Affairs colleagues on publication strategy execution, author coordination, journal submission logistics, and congress deliverables.
  • Co-lead HEOR content, including cost-calculation tools and associated manuscripts, in close partnership with the HEOR Lead, Market Access and external health economics experts.
  • Ensure market access content is grounded in published evidence and aligned with the broader scientific platform.
  • Develop and maintain annotated, cross-functionally adaptable content tools including medical slide decks, mechanism of action visuals, and data summary figures.
  • Develop modular disease state and cessation education content for residency training programs across internal medicine, family medicine, and psychiatry.
  • Build discharge protocols and operational pathway templates for hospital medicine, acute care, perioperative and other settings around the specific clinical moments where cessation matters most.
  • Produce decision support tools, state-specific scope-of-practice resources (factual and non-advocacy), and peer-to-peer content for nurse practitioner and physician associate channels.
  • Ensure all content meets applicable standards for accuracy, fair balance, and regulatory compliance, with complete reference documentation.
  • Serve as the internal lead for scientific content quality, accuracy, and delivery across the Medical Affairs function.
  • Manage and develop direct reports within the scientific content function as the organization grows, setting clear goals and supporting professional development.
  • Onboard and train team members on scientific content standards, compliance requirements, and approved content frameworks.
  • Establish and maintain efficient content production workflows, vendor relationships, and quality standards across all content outputs.
  • Support MLR delivery and review of promotional and non-promotional materials as required.
  • Support compliance activities including training, SOP development, and modeling the standards expected of the broader team.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced degree) in a relevant life sciences discipline required.
  • 8+ years in medical communications, medical affairs, or a closely related function, with demonstrated team leadership experience.
  • Track record of high-volume scientific content production across diverse output types: manuscripts, congress materials, slide decks, and educational content.
  • Experience in in-house medical affairs and/or agency medical communications organization settings strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with MLR processes, compliant scientific exchange, and regulatory document standards.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple content streams simultaneously in a launch environment.
  • Proficiency with AI-enabled content tools and interest in applying emerging technology to scientific content production at scale.

  • Techically curious, with an ability to evaluate and deploy new tools to improve content quality and efficiency.

TRAVEL

Approximately 20-30% for congresses, advisory boards, team meetings, and key external engagements.

SALARY RANGE

$230,000 - $290,000/annual
