Sr Director Quality Assurance
About the Role
Seeking a Sr Director of Quality Assurance to architect, transform, and elevate how quality is embedded into every program, product, and process across our LCA defense manufacturing enterprise. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a quality champion who leads by example and serves as the quality authority across LCA. You will design and execute business-wide quality strategies to drive zero customer escapes, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across a multi-site footprint. Responsibilities span from proposal development through final delivery, ensuring compliance with DoD standards, DCMA expectations, and rigorous internal benchmarks.
Responsibilities
- Directs programs and activities within the quality assurance functions of the organization.
- Supervises audit or inspection processes to monitor compliance with established quality standards.
- Administers policies and programs ensuring organizational products and processes meet quality standards.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and administration of an organizational quality management system and monitors progress against strategic quality-related goals.
- Directs a team of analysts collecting data to identify potential quality failures, evaluate quality of raw materials, components, in-progress goods, processes, or operations, and implement corrective actions.
- Solicits internal and external feedback to continuously improve processes or products.
- Leads and directs the work of other managers, including hiring, performance management, and termination decisions with HR and General Managers.
- Follows and/or develops, assures, and maintains the quality of products and processes through standards (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000, AS9100), quality audits, and review processes.
- Ensures compliance with quality assurance methods across disciplines.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree and 10-12 years of experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Up to 25% travel likely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or Business.
- Relevant QA experience within Manufacturing, Military, Medical, Aerospace/Aviation.
- Lead auditor or AS9100D certification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Certified QA professional.
- Strong mechanical background.
- Experience with SharePoint, TipQA, SDRLs/CDRLs, MSE, and/or AIE documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
- Management, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and work as part of a team.
