About the role

Senior Director of Development at North Carolina Asian Americans Together (NCAAT) and its affiliate NCAAT in Action.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and strategically guide NCAAT/IA’s Development Program
  • Create and implement an annual Development plan, goals, and budget for both entities
  • Align staff and stakeholders around the plan, manage the execution of the plan, and ensure development goals are met
  • Stay current with state and national trends and updates to strengthen fundraising strategy and pitches
  • Build knowledge of issues impacting Asian communities in NC and of key voting legislation by attending and/or organizing relevant coalition meetings, forums, and other gatherings; use this knowledge to inform fundraising approach
  • Find, pursue, and secure funding opportunities through the prospecting of major foundations and individual donors
  • Own the grant writing process and oversee the accurate and timely reporting of deliverables
  • Have a strong understanding of NCAAT’s program strategy and activities
  • Own, implement, and steer the strategy for individual giving
  • Plan and execute high-dollar individual fundraising events, including overseeing and owning our 2026 anniversary gala, as well as events such as fundraising house parties
  • Steward Foundation relationships
  • Manage NCAAT/IA’s Income and Program Spending for Grants
  • Assist with Board Fundraising and Stewardship

Requirements

  • Prior experience in taking a concept from idea to execution with success
  • Demonstrated ability to pitch organizational work effectively and write persuasive grants for potential funders and foundations
  • Meticulously organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience with budgets and a clear understanding of fiscal responsibility required for this position
  • Strong interpersonal skills through excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building

Pay

$105,000 - $115,000 with Benefits

Schedule

Hybrid (2 days in office / 3 remote). Requires frequent domestic travel (40-60% of time during busy seasons) to regional and national funder convenings, conferences, and meetings across the United States.
