Sr. Director, Global Governance & Assurance

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Director, Global Governance & Assurance to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This role will shape enterprise-wide governance and assurance practices across a complex global environment, with a strong focus on EHS, compliance, and risk management. You will lead the operating framework that supports consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement across regions and functions. The position partners closely with senior leaders to strengthen incident oversight, optimize processes, and drive sustainable performance through data-driven decision-making. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the enterprise EHS management system and governance framework.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization using performance data and audits.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in EHS compliance, leveraging technology.
• Establish governance for serious incident investigations and ensure systemic causes are identified.
• Direct the integration of EHS programs into a unified global operating model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, or related field; master’s or advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive global leadership experience in EHS, Security, Sustainability, Governance, Risk, or Compliance functions.
• 10+ years leading large, multi-functional organizations through subordinate Directors and senior leaders.
• Proven track record in developing enterprise strategy and managing significant global budgets.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence diverse teams across geographies.

Pay

$167,500 – $282,325 annually
