Sr. Director, Customer Development, Healthcare
About the role
As the Senior Director - Healthcare (Sales team), you will be the strategic architect of our partnerships with CVS, Walgreens, and our network of Healthcare distributors and redistributors. You will lead our team to drive sustainable growth, optimize category performance, and deepen our relationships with merchant leadership across these key accounts. You will be responsible for the total P&L across our iconic brands within the Healthcare ecosystem. This role requires a visionary leader who understands the nuances of CVS and Walgreens go-to-market strategies, retail media solutions, and complex distributor operations, along with having an Omnichannel mindset to drive success on their respective digital platforms. Our ideal candidate is an experienced and versatile business leader who has a proven track record of high performance, thinks big, and operates at depth. In addition, this leader has experience managing diverse teams in a highly dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Partnership: Lead the development and execution of multi-year profitable growth plans (JBPs) that align Colgate-Palmolive's corporate goals with the strategic priorities and value propositions of CVS, Walgreens, and our distribution partners.
- Executive Presence: Serve as the primary face of Colgate-Palmolive to the leadership at CVS, Walgreens, and our distributors, deepening relationships, fostering trust, and driving high-level advocacy.
- Category Influence: Position our brands as category thought leaders by leveraging data-driven insights to influence assortment and shelf strategies across the healthcare channel.
- Team Management & Culture: Oversee the Healthcare team, fostering a high-performance culture that attracts and retains top-tier CPG talent.
- Cross-Functional Synergy: Lead a multi-disciplinary team across Sales, Category Management, Supply Chain, OMNI shopper, and Finance, as well as, agency management to ensure seamless execution.
- Mentorship: Coach and develop Account Managers and National Account Executives for future leadership roles.
- Financial & Operational Excellence: Manage the full Healthcare P&L (CVS, Walgreens, and Distributors), including gross/net sales, trade spend, and profitability margins.
- Omnichannel Integration: Collaborate with digital teams to ensure "best-in-class" presence on CVS.com and Walgreens.com, and maximize ROI on retail media investments.
- Forecast Accuracy: Partner with Demand Planning to ensure high in-stock levels across all retailers and redistributors, particularly during peak seasonal windows and promotional periods.

- Lead and collaborate within cross-discipline teams, networking and building strong relationships with Insights and Analytics, OMNI Shopper, Marketing, Supply Chain, Research & Development, and Sales.
- Effectively and efficiently educate and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels through strong oral and written communication skills.
- Seek opportunities to improve via creative solutions.
- Dig into the reason behind the numbers, analyze results and identify drivers to guide the team accordingly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 12+ years of proven CPG sales experience, with specific working knowledge around managing CVS, Walgreens, and Healthcare distributors/redistributors, and their overall go-to-market strategies
- Experience working and leading in a variety of retail environments, managing P&Ls and navigating global, matrixed organizations
- Familiarity with the retail community and the internal "way of working" at CVS and Walgreens
- Proven track record of navigating complex negotiations and securing "win-win" outcomes
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, with a successful track record of building and leading high-performing sales teams
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA
- Microsoft Office or Google Suite proficiency (i.e., Sheets, Slides, Docs)
- Ability to travel as needed (25%)
Pay
- Salary Range: $240,000.00 - $275,000.00 USD
- Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles
