Baylor Genetics is seeking a strategic leader to oversee compensation and benefits across the organization, partnering closely with a high-performing executive team.
Responsibilities
- Administer employee insurance programs including life, disability, and health insurance plans.
- Administer employee savings plans, including the company’s 401(k) plan.
- Advise and inform employees of changes and developments related to benefits, including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
- Research and compare incentive compensation plans offered by demographically comparable organizations; assess competitors’ plans and recommend enhancements to keep the organization’s plans competitive.
- Integrate data and consult on equity compensation.
- Facilitate accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other service providers.
- Complete records, reporting, and documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
- Conduct employee surveys, census, and other research to collect accurate quotes from benefit and compensation providers.
- Identify and select carriers and plans based on quotes, available benefits, and prior experience.
- Monitor administrators and insurance carriers’ reports to ensure compliance with plan requirements.
- Ensure organizational and plan compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
- Maintain knowledge of economic conditions, labor market trends, and other factors to ensure competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation structures.
- Stay current with trends, developments, and best practices in compensation and benefits administration.
- Drive automation, standardization, and process excellence across all HR operations.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and employment legislation.
- Champion a high-performance, service-oriented culture aligned with Baylor Genetics’ values.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP, SPHR) preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive experience managing compensation and benefits at the Director level.
- Healthcare, Biotech, or Life Sciences Human Resources experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience leading talent and culture initiatives.
- Proven track record of managing HR compliance and risk in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Experience building and tracking HR metrics and KPIs across multiple HR disciplines.
- Prior experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and IT to execute enterprise initiatives.

- Demonstrated knowledge of job mapping and compensation tables.
- Knowledge of equity compensation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
