Sr. DevOps Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a company delivering federal modernization, cloud transformation, and mission-critical technology solutions. This position is on-site in Huntsville, AL. The Senior DevOps Engineer will develop secure automation, infrastructure as code, and deployment pipelines across AWS and on-premises environments. This opportunity supports the modernization of critical government systems by improving software delivery, integrating security controls, and increasing deployment reliability. Responsibilities for the Senior DevOps Engineer include: Build and improve CI/CD pipelines that automate software builds, testing, security scanning, and application deploymentsIntegrate dependency management, artifact controls, vulnerability scanning, and code quality checks into secure delivery workflowsDevelop infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or comparable technologies to automate provisioning and configurationManage version control, branching strategies, and build processes while incorporating logging, monitoring, and alerting into cloud and hybrid environmentsSupport federal security requirements through automated compliance checks, artifact tracking, and audit documentationCollaborate with development, cloud, data, QA, and product teams to troubleshoot deployment issues, improve pipeline performance, and support release readinessMaintain documentation covering pipeline configurations, infrastructure templates, and deployment procedures Required Qualifications for the Senior DevOps Engineer include: 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD engineering, or secure automation, with a Bachelor’s degree requiredExperience developing and maintaining pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar toolsHands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployment environmentsExperience using Terraform, CloudFormation, and configuration management technologiesStrong understanding of cloud platforms and secure development practicesStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skillsMust have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications for the Senior DevOps Engineer include: Experience supporting DOJ, FBI, Intelligence Community, or other national security programsExperience working with AWS infrastructure and cloud deployment workflowsFamiliarity with microservices, serverless frameworks, and distributed systemsExperience automating security scanning with SonarQube, Snyk, Anchore, Twistlock, or NessusExperience developing automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell Compensation for the Senior DevOps Engineer includes: Salary Range: Competitive salary depending on experience Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick Leave as Required by Law This job opens for applications on 10/19/2026.
