Sr DevOps Engineer

About the role

Become part of Adobe’s Search and Discovery platform and Content Processing Platform (part of Adobe Sensei), which power machine learning and AI across Adobe’s cloud products. This team enables users to simplify and accelerate their creative journey by helping them discover assets and ingredients via search, browse, recommendation, and assistive experiences. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will build, redesign, and manage large, globally distributed infrastructure using modern Reliability Engineering and DevOps methods, making an extraordinary impact in computer vision, user understanding, language understanding, and digital experience optimization.

Responsibilities

• Work at the intersection of engineering and operations for Search & Sensei products at Adobe.
• Set up and manage large-scale search index, real-time messaging, data ingestion platforms, NoSQL databases, web services, and orchestration services.
• Implement cloud-based technologies to enable the Search & Sensei platform.
• Maintain and optimize search engines, develop new features, and benchmark solutions for performance and feasibility.
• Develop Search & Sensei using technologies such as Elasticsearch, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Hadoop, HBase, Apache Spark, MongoDB, caching solutions, web services, NoSQL technologies, Terraform, and Jenkins.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support product development needs.
• Design and build highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Roll out security features in the cloud.
• Architect and optimize infrastructure costs.
• Bring top distributed systems and DevOps practices into Adobe’s Search & Sensei ecosystem, aiming for one-click setup for development projects.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3-7 years of meaningful industry experience.
• Experience building, deploying, and managing infrastructures in public clouds (AWS, Azure).
• Strong programming and automation skills (Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell, Go, Java).
• Exposure to setting up large-scale databases and performance tuning.
• Experience operating and scaling NoSQL technologies such as Elasticsearch, Kafka, HBase, MongoDB, and Apache Spark.
• Linux/Unix system administration experience.
• Experience with Git, Perforce, Jenkins, and cloud/virtualization technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud well-architected frameworks and cloud build principles.

Pay

The U.S. pay range for this position is $139,000 – $257,550 annually, varying by work location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In California, the pay range is $177,900 – $257,550. For sales roles, starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (base + commission), with short-term incentives in the form of sales commission plans. For non-sales roles, starting salaries are expressed as base salary with short-term incentives through the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). Certain roles may also be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
