Sr. Designer, Sweaters - Almost Famous Clothing

About the Role

This position supports the Wholesale Apparel business and is based in our NYC office, requiring on-site work. The Sr. Designer, Sweaters is responsible for sweater styles from initial concept through final production.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage creative development of sweaters from proto development to factory comments and production-level fitting.
• Research markets, shop retail, and interact with consumers to establish trends.
• Source and choose yarns and knitting stitch designs for samples.
• Create development tech-packs including technical flat sketches, specs, stitches, patterns, and construction details.
• Present samples as envisioned.
• Create CAD sketches and stitch/pattern artwork.
• Communicate with overseas vendors and internal teams on product development.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• College degree in fashion design preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the sweater industry.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of the target market.

Pay

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $110,000. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and organizational structure.
