As Senior Designer, Lifestyle Footwear, you will create compelling lifestyle footwear that delivers newness, drives growth, and expands the future expression of HOKA Lifestyle. Sitting at the intersection of design, product, culture, and consumer insight, you’ll translate emerging opportunities into meaningful product experiences and help shape the future of HOKA Lifestyle.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver inline lifestyle footwear creation and storytelling, balancing impact, commercial success, and HOKA's design DNA.
  • Translate consumer, cultural, and marketplace insights into meaningful footwear solutions.
  • Create visionary narratives, design stories, and product worlds that challenge convention and define the future expression of HOKA Lifestyle.
  • Design and develop footwear from concept through commercialization, including renderings, technical drawings, specifications, and tech packs.
  • Develop a deep understanding of target consumers, lifestyle culture, marketplace trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Identify emerging consumer behaviors, cultural shifts, and marketplace opportunities that inform future product creation.
  • Explore future product opportunities, franchise extensions, and new expressions of HOKA Lifestyle.
  • Contribute to the evolution and elevation of key HOKA Lifestyle franchises through thoughtful product creation and strategic thinking.
  • Partner closely with Development, Materials, Color, PLM, Merchandising, and Marketing teams to deliver cohesive product experiences.
  • Review and refine prototypes while balancing design vision, consumer relevance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Present concepts, product opportunities, and design intent with confidence and clarity in both informal team settings and formal reviews.
  • Mentor and support fellow designers through collaboration, feedback, and shared learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Footwear Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
  • 5+ years of footwear design experience, ideally within lifestyle, sport lifestyle, athletic, fashion, or related consumer product categories.
  • Advanced understanding of lifestyle footwear design, construction, materials, manufacturing processes, and product creation.
  • Strong understanding of lifestyle footwear and streetwear culture, consumer behavior, and marketplace dynamics.
  • Ability to translate consumer, cultural, and marketplace insights into compelling footwear solutions.
  • Strong concepting, storytelling, and visual communication skills.
  • Expert ability to create technical footwear drawings, renderings, specifications, and tech packs.
  • Ability to balance innovative product creation with commercial product objectives.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Miro, or Lucid.
  • Familiarity with 3D design and visualization tools such as Vizcom, Firefly, Gravity Sketch, Blender, Rhino, Midjourney, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Portfolio demonstrating consumer understanding, concept development, storytelling, and footwear execution.

Pay

$87,900.00 - $118,600.00. The salary range reflects the estimated minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in Portland, Oregon. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Hybrid role based in Portland, OR, typically requiring 3 days per week in the office (Tuesday – Thursday).
