Who You Are You are a compliance-focused professional who serves as a trusted advisor and second line of defense, helping ensure adherence to federal and state regulations across the organization. You partner closely with business units to develop, implement, and oversee compliance policies, procedures, and controls, while providing independent guidance and oversight to mitigate regulatory risk. In a fast-paced environment, you investigate compliance concerns, assess potential risks, and make recommendations that strengthen the organization's compliance posture and support operational success. While the team’s primary focus is consumer protection, this role also supports the credit union’s consumer privacy and data protection obligation. What You'll Do Monitor and analyze applicable regulations at the federal and state levels (e.g., Reg Z, Reg B, HMDA, ECOA, TILA, RESPA, TISA, Reg CC, Reg E).Provide 2LOD advisory and oversight on consumer privacy and data protection requirements (GLBA/Regulation P., FCRA, and CCPA/CPRA), including privacy notices, opt-out/limit rights, permissible information sharing, and check & Challenge of 1LOD privacy controls.Provide proactive compliance guidance to business units (1LOD) through ongoing advisory services, projects, marketing reviews, etc.Analyze new or amended regulations, including complex cases, impacting business activities, communicate relevant changes to 1LOD and provide 2LOD oversight through an established Regulatory Development Process.Provide subject matter expertise in the development of corporate compliance policies and provide alignment confirmations to 1LOD teams Active participation in annual and ongoing risk assessment campaigns as a Subject Matter Expert, including complex risk areas, providing effective check & challenge to 1LOD teams.Develop compliance training content to ensure understanding and adherence to applicable regulations, with a focus on areas of higher compliance risk.Review and work with 1LOD impacted teams on resolving complex and high-risk compliance-related complaints from members regarding credit union’s products and services.Participate in preparation of compliance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.Understand core business activities, risks, and products, to effectively guide 1LOD teams and support the Credit Union’s Compliance Program.Collaborate with other compliance teams to ensure harmony in approach to compliance matters and processes.When assigned, play an active role with regulators during exams, audits, and other regulatory interactions.Provide guidance and support on projects and initiatives, with a focus on those which pose a higher level of compliance risk and complexity. Qualificiations And Preferences Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required7+ years as a Financial Services experience in consumer protection regulatory compliance, internal audit, external audit, financial services operations, or consumer protection compliance program development/evaluation required7+ years of consumer privacy and data protection laws and regulation (GLBA/Regulation P, FCRA, and CCPA/CRPA) and their application to credit union products, serivces, and information sharing required Why Join Us Golden 1 Credit Union provides its employees a market-competitive and internally equitable total rewards compensation package through a variety of programs.
