About the role

Design Technologists at frog blend futurist vision and practical thinking, serving as hands-on organizers of technical insights, experiments, proofs, and models. You will bridge the gap between creative design services, technology strategy, and software engineering. Drive technology platform research, experimentation, concept exploration, prototyping, and ideation within the creative process of designing user experiences. Leverage and manage data to support technical needs ranging from AI applications to impact assessments.

• Gather, ingest, and utilize data from diverse modalities to advance project goals.
• Identify and analyze current and emerging UX technology patterns and trends.
• Conduct in-depth investigations and experiments with new platforms and frameworks.
• Spot new opportunities for business value and UX innovation through technology enablers.
• Work closely with the creative team to translate design assets into user experience simulations, interactive prototypes, technical proofs-of-concept, and UI/presentation layers.
• Embrace a maker and tinkerer mindset—technically adept, passionate about design, and eager to tackle challenges hands-on.
• Use creativity and technology as your primary mediums for innovation.

Requirements

You bring to the organization the following competencies:

• Professional experience designing and developing user interfaces, UX concepts, websites, and applications on a variety of platforms, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of designers and strategists.
• Background in data management and manipulation to support data-specific needs and concepts.
• Ability to communicate with clients directly and complete program and workstream tasks autonomously.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing and delivering documentation, proposals, presentations, and structured working sessions.
• Bachelor’s Degree in the sciences, engineering, or creative discipline or equivalent experience.

Skills

Proficiency in the following:

• Modern web front-end application development.
• Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Source control (e.g., GitHub, GitLab) and toolchain integrations.
• Third-party API integrations.
• LLM-based service integrations.
• Data visualizations.
• Digital media.
• Cross-browser UI issues.
• Physical and digital prototyping.
• Code and software development best practices (e.g., JavaScript/React, Python, C/C++, Unity/C#).
• Data manipulation and management.
• Figma and other design tools.
• Responsive web development.
• Web services.
• Additional presentation-layer libraries and frameworks.
• Design software and APIs (e.g., Figma APIs).

Good working knowledge of:

• AI engineering and applications, including GenAI best practices.
• Server technologies.
• Cloud deployment.
• CI/CD.

Bonus skills:

• ML modeling.
• Data engineering.
• Full stack development.
• Exemplary attention to detail to accurately translate designs while maintaining high code quality.
• Background in design systems creation and deployment.
• Ability to accurately estimate project scope and tasks.

Ideal candidates will have a recent work portfolio of successful UI releases and can demonstrate a passion for current visual and interaction design technology trends in a modern web technology context.

Availability to travel between 50% and 75% for engagements supporting new business development, program kickoffs, or working sessions involving creative and technical ideation exercises, and design integration support phases with software engineering counterparts.

Pay

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $150,000. This role may also be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full-time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and other benefits.
