Sr. DBA Administrator (SQL/Oracle/Cloud)

About the Role

This position reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager and is focused on ensuring all areas of Database operation function smoothly. It includes rotational weekend support and after/before standard office hours to ensure department coverage (7am/7pm). The role is hybrid and based in Winston-Salem, NC.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for Oracle, SQL Server, and Cloud DB (Snowflake/Azure) management technology and its deployment/usage standards.
• Support and maintain SQL scripts for stored procedures and database maintenance tasks.
• Assist BI and development teams with database design and SQL script creation/tuning.
• Ensure all database environmental changes are appropriately tested and implemented without impacting integrated systems and clients.
• Maintain all database documentation, disaster recovery plans, and SOX security documentation.
• Set up and configure new databases, maintain user profiles, and install/upgrade database patches.
• Resolve client issues and enhancement requests, including performance tuning and troubleshooting (index/memory/CPU/space analysis).
• Demonstrate expertise in database CDC, clustering, and replications.
• Document all procedures in operations folders, including screen prints, and update documentation when procedures change.
• Maintain software license inventories and enforce physical and network security policies.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining remote database access connections.
• Research projects as requested by the IT Infrastructure Manager and recommend new technology acquisitions based on solution comparisons.
• Communicate upcoming planned and unplanned systems changes to users.
• Provide rotational and on-call support outside normal business hours, including weekends.

Key Relationships

• Collaborate closely with other Database Administrators and Infrastructure teams.
• Interact with team members at international sites for remote server support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server.
• Strong knowledge of database cloud solutions (Azure is an asset).

Pay

The pay range for this position is $50.00 – $55.00/hour. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
