Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments
  • Maintain database health, performance, and availability; proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Lead performance tuning and optimization efforts, including query tuning and execution plan analysis, index management and optimization, and stored procedure review and refactoring
  • Partner with application developers to review SQL code for efficiency and scalability, assist with database design, schema changes, and data modeling decisions
  • Implement and manage backup, restore, and recovery strategies
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues using native and third-party monitoring tools
  • Support high transaction OLTP systems in e-commerce and financial environments
  • Assist help desk and support teams with SQL- and database-related issues
  • Contribute to database standards, documentation, and best practices
  • Participate in capacity planning, performance forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives

Other Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Affords assistance in the development of new business for Firstrust
  • Alerts to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services
  • Directs customers to appropriate personnel to establish business relationships

Physical And Sensory Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Regularly required to drive a motor vehicle, occasional air travel, attend meetings at various venues, including but not limited to customers’ offices and/or properties, restaurants and other meeting locations, and ascend/descend stairs and/or ladders occasionally to perform inspections
  • The employee may be required to lift files/materials up to 20 pounds to take to various locations
  • The incumbent will be expected to operate a computer terminal

Education, Training And Experience

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server (2012 or newer)
  • Strong experience supporting high-volume, highly transactional OLTP environments
  • Deep understanding of: Database architecture and relational design principles, Indexing strategies and execution plans, Work Schedule: Hybrid Schedule
