Responsibilities
- Work with line of business and product leaders to assess needs, define opportunities, and research solutions.
- Learn underlying systems and workflows to understand the business domain.
- Participate in cross-functional teams.
- Prioritize and complete projects in an efficient and effective manner.
- Communicate results to business leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide insights through data visualizations.
- Share progress within cross-functional teams to ensure team deliverables are met.
- Follow best practices on documenting work.
- Includes code reuse, peer review and knowledge sharing.
- Provide technical guidance and peer review to other team members.
- May have direct or indirect management of other data scientists on the team.
- Provide oversight on data science projects.
- Includes analytical approach, adoption of internal best practices, interpretation of results, and communication to stakeholders.
- Research and implement methodologies to address business objectives.
- Design, document, and execute experiments as projects.
- Write up concise results and conclusions.
- Utilize advanced statistics, modeling, and algorithms to create predictive models and creative analyses.
- Design performance metrics for monitoring models and code that are put into production.
- Lead and perform data extraction, cleansing, and wrangling on diverse data sets from internal and external sources.
- Work with IT department to implement data science code into production applications.
- Travel to internal and external meetings as needed (10-20%).
Qualifications
- 5 years + experience in data-science related field required.
- Bachelor’s degree computer science, statistics, or related field required.
- Master’s Degree a plus.
- 3 years + practical experience with Python, ETL, data processing, SQL and data analytics.
- 1 year + experience managing people in a data science or data analytics role preferred.
- 2 years + experience working in an agile/scrum project framework.
- Understanding of various data structures and common ETL methods/languages used in data transformation.
- Strong analytical and analysis skills.
- Working knowledge of insurance brokerage or sales workflows and systems an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure capabilities a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple and rapidly changing, high visibility priorities and projects.
- Proven ability to manage expectations and outcomes with business leaders.
Benefits
- Salary Range: $125,00- $150,000.
- This is a bonus eligible position with a target incentive of 10%.
