Sr Cyber Security Engineer – Top Secret Clearance Required (San Diego)

About the role

Qualcomm's Government Technologies (QGOV) division develops special products based on its wireless terrestrial and satellite communication technologies for the military, federal, local, and foreign governments. This role involves working on an Information Security and Risk Management team dedicated to securing Qualcomm’s Government business unit.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security strategies and solutions to protect Qualcomm’s Government business unit from cyber threats.
• Work with cutting-edge tools and technologies to enhance security measures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
• Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions.
• Monitor security events and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
• Stay current with emerging threats and technologies to inform security strategies and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 1 year of relevant experience, or
• No degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.

Skills

• Experience with cloud security architecture, tooling, and monitoring.
• Experience with Microsoft Cloud technologies such as Entra ID, Purview, and Defender.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services technologies such as CloudTrail, GuardDuty, CloudWatch, AWS Security Groups, etc.
• Experience in Security Operations, including security event monitoring and incident review.
• Experience creating threat detections in cloud, host, and network security tooling.
• Experience with security automation and scripting.
• Experience in incident response and threat hunting.
• Experience with application security, penetration testing.
