About the role

We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our Legal Department as a key advisor across the full lifecycle of Hunt Energy Company’s project development business. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this attorney will provide legal counsel on project planning, design, construction, operation, financing, acquisition, and disposition.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate, and manage project development agreements such as Engineering, Procurement and Construction agreements (EPC), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), vendor agreements, and related contracts.
  • Identify and manage legal risks across the development timeline.
  • Support project finance transactions, including construction financing, term loan facilities, and related credit agreements.
  • Lead or support legal due diligence for acquisitions of development-stage and operating projects.
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, membership interest purchase agreements, and ancillary transaction documents.
  • Periodic travel to conferences, partner meetings, and project sites.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; admission to the Texas State Bar (or eligibility for admission).
  • 5+ years of experience in the energy, development, infrastructure, or project finance sector, either in private practice or in-house.

Skills

  • Strong drafting, negotiating, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Excellent business judgment and communication skills; comfortable advising senior leadership directly.
