About the role

The role is located in New York, NY, with consideration for Washington DC. This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for revenue targets within a specific territory.
  • Makes strategic territory and account decisions by analyzing quality of risks underwritten.
  • Analyzes regional underwriting performance and develops sales strategies.
  • Manages and underwrites new and renewal Credit and Political Risk book of business.
  • Develops tailored policy wordings for credit and political risk transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with underwriting guidelines and all insurance regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures operational excellence through timely issuance of non-binding indications and policy wordings.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10-12 years of experience in credit and political risk underwriting.
  • Experience developing tailored policy wordings for credit and political risk transactions.
  • Expertise in financial statement analysis, credit underwriting, country analysis, IT development, completing scoring and rating models, and pricing models.
  • Excellent relationships with the US broker community and corporate and bank clients.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior underwriting credit authority.
  • Formal credit training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; MBA or master's degree in finance, international affairs or business administration a plus.
  • Financial statement analysis, Credit underwriting, Country analysis, IT development, completing scoring and rating models and pricing models.
  • Demonstrated expert in the field.
  • Excellent relationships with the US broker community and corporate and bank clients.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior underwriting credit authority.
  • Formal credit training.
