Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and according to design specifications.
- Lead a team of inspectors, materials testers, consultants, and office personnel engaged in construction inspection.
- Ensure all construction work meets or exceeds quality standards, technical specifications, and industry regulations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the project team, contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
- Conduct routine inspections of the work being performed, including reviewing materials, work quality, and adherence to design drawings.
- Ensure the site follows all health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations to create a safe working environment.
- Maintain daily logs, inspection records, and other documentation as required by the client and funding agencies.
- Provide detailed progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction engineering, with at least 5 years’ experience working with Caltrans governing documents including but not limited to Bridge Construction Records & procedures, the Construction Manual, Standard Specification, and Special Provisions. Strong experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, utilities, and drainage systems. Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and to specification. Construction of Tie-back Anchored retaining wall system and micro pile footing system. Different project delivery methods include Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and Construction Manager/General Contractor.
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) is required.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on-site in various weather conditions and environments.
- Ability to work variable hours and schedules including night work.
- Ability to inspect construction sites including climbing ladders and navigating uneven terrain.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and adjust to changing project needs.
