Position Overview

Triton Claim Management, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Complex Construction Claims Specialist to manage high-severity, complex construction defect, construction liability, and property damage claims. This role is responsible for the end-to-end handling of claims, including coverage analysis, investigation, litigation management, reserving, negotiation, and resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of moderate to high-exposure construction defect and construction liability claims from assignment through resolution.

  • Conduct timely and thorough investigations, including interviews, site evaluations, and review of contracts, policies, and technical documentation.

  • Analyze coverage, liability, damages, and reserve adequacy with a strong understanding of ISO forms, exclusions, and policy language.

  • Establish and maintain accurate indemnity and expense reserves based on evolving claim exposure.

  • Verify damages through review of medical reports, repair estimates, engineering findings, and expert analysis.

  • Independently manage litigated and non-litigated claims, developing and executing effective litigation strategies.

  • Select, retain, and manage defense counsel, experts, and consultants, including engineers, forensic specialists, and medical professionals.

  • Direct discovery, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations, ensuring cost-effective claim resolution.

  • Develop and implement creative resolution strategies, including risk transfer, contribution recovery, and alternate dispute resolution.

  • Evaluate tenders, indemnity agreements, additional insured coverage, and other insurance provisions.

  • Collaborate with underwriting, risk control, legal, and business teams to provide insight into loss trends and reserve adequacy.

  • Act as a technical expert and mentor, providing guidance, coaching, and training to less-experienced claims professionals.

  • Participate in roundtables and authority discussions to drive optimal claim outcomes.

  • Communicate complex claim issues clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of expertise.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of claims handling experience, including: 3–5+ years handling serious injury, construction defect, or complex liability claims

  • Strong expertise in: Construction defect and/or construction liability (CGL) Litigation management and legal processes Coverage interpretation and policy analysis Proven ability to manage high-value claims ($500K to multi-million exposure)

  • Active or ability to obtain Property & Casualty Adjuster License(s) as required

  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills

  • PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or related field (or equivalent experience) Advanced industry certifications or Juris Doctor (JD) a plus Experience with multi-party construction claims, risk transfer, and coverage disputes Demonstrated mentorship and leadership capabilities
