Job Description Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed software and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development.Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use.May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) or more years of relevant experience; an additional eight (8) years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific/technical discipline is required.Preferred certifications ITIL Foundation, CMII or equivalent configuration management certifications are a plus.Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex software builds and releases across multiple environments.Experience working within large, regulated enterprises or federal environments is beneficial. Requirements Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering; broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.Provides technical guidance and solutions to complex problems; operates autonomously and makes sound decisions.Ensures compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes across projects; collaborates frequently with internal and external stakeholders.Skilled inConfiguration management practices (identification, baselining, change control, status accounting).Source control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps Repos, Subversion) and branching/merging strategies.CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions) and artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory).Scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python).Managing COTS software, vendor patches, and version control.Infrastructure as code and environment management (Ansible, Terraform).Knowledgeable in software quality standards, governance frameworks, and training developers on CM tools and quality practices.Proficient with work management tools (JIRA, Azure Boards, Trello) and documentation tools (Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart).Understands database concepts, dependency management, and build reproducibility.Strong analytical skills for investigating build failures, dependency conflicts, and deployment issues.Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.Effective collaborator and mentor; leads and trains junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.Manages multiple priorities and projects in fast-paced environments; meets deadlines.Committed to continuous improvement and staying current with industry trends and emerging DevOps technologies. Clearance Requirement US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Target salary range $40,001 - $80,000.
